Dr. Cherese Tarter, DNP
Medical Director/Owner

Dr. Cherese Tarter Is an award-winning, board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and a diplomat of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Tarter has been practicing in Idaho for more than 22 years and provides full-service primary care and lifestyle medicine for all ages. She uses a patient-centered model of care where patients are active participants in the creation of their health care plan. She believes, “Health Care is Self-Care.”  

Dr. Tarter lives the five pillars of lifestyle medicine and has been able to resolve her health issues and attain a healthy weight with evidence-based lifestyle changes.  She empowers her patients to do the same by providing expertise in traditional, lifestyle, integrative, and blended medical care based on your individual needs and preferences.  When she is not at the office, Dr. Tarter is spending time with friends, family, and her two fur babies Maddie and Ellie.  She also enjoys writing, cycling, food photography, cooking, reading, swimming, traveling, playing the flute, learning Spanish, and sharing the benefits of essential oils.

Sunshine Jones
Lead Medical Assistant

Sunshine, like her name implies, brings an infectious smile and an excellent attitude to our clinic every day. She is our lead Medical Assistant and has many years of experience.  She is also the coordinator for our immunization program and our chronic care management program. When you have medical questions, Sunshine is always happy to assist you with your needs.  She enjoys spending time with her family, her dogs. She loves to be outdoors, especially in the mountains in nature. Sunshine has also seen the benefit of essential oils as part of her wellness routine and can answer any questions you may have about how to use them for self-care. 

Jennifer Robinson

Medical Assistant

Jennifer is a native Idahoan and has been a Medical Assistant since 2005. She comes to us with years of experience in the medical field in the front and back office. Jenn has a daughter attending University of Utah who is studying to be a nurse practitioner. Jenn loves to garden, paint, read and be outdoors. She loves animals and lives on a small farm with horses, cats, donkeys, dogs, fish and a turtle.

Mary Maldonado
Medical Billing Specialist/Medical Assistant

Mary Maldonado was born in Modesto, California, and lived there until 1999. She has been in the medical field for 28 years now. She started as a Certified Nursing Assistant and then continued her education to become a Medical Assistant, Cardio Technician, and Emergency Medical Technician for 26 years. She has been a medical billing specialist for five years while working as a Medical Assistant. She joined Tarter Family Medicine last summer. In her words, “I enjoy working in a loving environment where the staff all work together and are very supportive. Currently, this is helping me while I go back to school again to work on becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner.” In her limited free time, she is with her four children and boyfriend, watching movies, gardening, and playing video games. “I look forward to working with Tarter Family and having a long future with this caring environment.”
